Creamy Baked Vegan Mac
Wow! You will thank me for this one. I knew this was really good when my Sun licked the bowl clean. My issue with Vegan Mac is that often it's very dry. I've had this dish at many great Plant Based restaurants and though the food is generally excellent, this is one most just can't get right. I've tried over and over again myself and they were okay but WE'VE GOT A WINNER, WINNER NO CHICKEN DINNER! Check out this recipe and let me know what ya think.
What you will need:
1 box of Organic Pasta (Macaroni noodles or Penne Pasta)
1/2 tsp of Tumeric
3 tbsp of Nutritional Yeast
4 slices of Vegan Cheddar Cheez (Daiya works best)
1 cup of Water
1/2 tsp of Pink Salt
3/4 tsp of Black Pepper
1/4 tsp of Onion Powder
1/4 tsp of Garlic Powder
A medium sized glass baking dish
A large pot (for boiling the noodles)
A small pot (for making the sauce)
Recipe:
In a large Pot, boil noodles according to the recipe on the side of the box. In a small pot, bring a cup of Water to a boil. While boiling add Yeast and seasonings, stir them in and down the heat. Add two slices of Vegan Cheez and stir it in until it has completely melted. Turn off the heat and let sit until it has made a sauce not quite as thick as gravy but not watery. Drain you Pasta and rinse under cool water, return back to the large pot and pour sauce on top on very low heat. Fold Pasta into the sauce, once covered turn off heat and pour into the baking dish. Preheat oven to 350. Take the last to slices of Vegan cheez and cut each slice into bite size pieces (maybe 6 pieces per slice). Place cheez on top of the Mac and bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove and serve as is or fold cheez into the Mac (Do not stir hard, the noodles will fall a part) and serve... VIOLA
