"Women, Phenomenal Women!"
May has been hot, hot, hot!!!! It has truly been a blessing to experience being in rooms filled with so many Phenomenal Women. As I am an Herbalist/Dance Teacher/Blogger and Vendor for Raw Juice, Vegan/Vegetarian Meals and Herbs (gotta stay busy) I am always on the go. Though I love what I do, believe me this is not an easy task, it takes commitment, passion and faith to be an Entreprenuer! You often find yourself spending more money than you make, wanting to give up and working harder than you ever have before. There's no clock to punch, no one forcing you to keep up the good work, giving you a pat on the back, pressuring you to work harder or hone your skills or craft. It's all about you!
I have been blessed to spend the month attending events meeting fantastic Women who have done that and been successful at it! I also spent time with women who are working on it but they are committed to nourishing their dreams until they are in full bloom. Women who are Millionaires born and bred from Detroit such as Jewel Tankard, host of the "Jewel Tankard Show" who is married to the former professional Basketball Player Ben Tankard and together they have their own reality show on Bravo called "Thicker Than Water". Women who are innovative like Gwen Jimmere who is the first African American Woman to hold a Patent for a natural hair care product. I had a conversation with Pashon Murray of "Detroit Dirt" and she explained her desire to make sure that "Mother Earth" is appreciated by turning waste into compost to nourish soil and help to rebirth Detroit.
Robin Kinnie of "Motor City Woman Radio" who is just as resourceful as she is amazing took the time to talk with me about major things she has coming up that will impact the Women of Detroit helping them to forge partnerships and build relationships. Last but not least I was able to be take part in "Girltrek" Training Flint and Detroit where I met women who endure the horrendous conditions of Flints water crisis and took the time to come to Detroit to support a movement sweeping the NATION of Black Women uniting in Health and Wellness. I also met, danced with and got sweaty with the co-founders of "GirlTrek.org" T.Morgan-Dixon and Vanessa Garrison who are spearheading this movement of Women walking for self-care and good health.
Each of these women need and have articles written just about them, what they do and are giving to others. I have the pleasure of saying that I was influenced by the positive and infectious light that they carry of the passion for what they love and what they want to bring forth to this world. As June comes around I will be spending time attending more events, being inspired and looking to inspire others by living out my dreams and being UNSTOPPABLE! I wish for ALL OF US TO DO THE SAME, as far as we know you only live once, why not live your best life....CHEERS TO WOMEN, PHENOMENAL WOMEN. WE ARE ALL PHENOMENAL WOMEN!!!!!! Peace
