"Three Stress Free Foods"
Stress is not a fun experience. We all handle it in different ways. Some of us eat, become snappy, lose sleep, and gain weight. When you are under constant stress your immune system is attacked and it leads to other health problems. There are many activities that we can do to help us calm down. There are also some foods you can eat. Before you pick up that sugary or carb infused snack, think of these options that will help you stay healthy and stress free.
Spinach
This green leaf is a wonderful powerhouse of iron, calcium, B vitamins, magnesium, and protein. With all of these great vitamins and minerals, it’s magnesium that will help prevent anxiety. This mineral regulates cortisol, a stress hormone. Eat some spinach in a salad, put some in a smoothie, or add this wonderful food in your eggs.
Oats
Oats are known to promote serotonin. This is the same hormone that keeps you happy. Oats are full of fiber, B vitamins, and magnesium. All of these nutrients are known to help reduce stress and keep anxiety at bay. Eat whole oats for breakfast or add some baked apples as a snack.
Seeds
Snacking on some pumpkin and sunflower seeds is a great choice. Both seeds have a large doses of magnesium. Again, this mineral regulates emotions. It is also known to release fatigue and moodiness. Magnesium also helps with PMS symptoms such as water retention and cramps. Eat seeds in a salad or as a snack.
