"My Easy Life on Radio"
My Easy Life on Radio?! What the h@!! Yesterday I did my first Podcast where I engineered it. It wasn't hard work, just the click of a few buttons. However, I want my message, my voice and my sound to come across how I hear it in my head. I've had to change locations based on waiting on other people to run my boards, to open the door...and on...and on. I even had an issue where my guest showed up and had to return home or to her day because of.... waiting on someone to come and do something for me. She was kind enough to come back but it was still embarrassing.
If I've learned anything in my time on this Earth (this lifetime) is that waiting on people to do things will have you waiting forever. It's so important to take initiative and be willing to do what it takes to make the things you want happen. So often, we make excuses and say things like, before I can..... I need to have..... In this era, you have the internet, cell phones that take pictures as good as an expensive camera. You don't have to wait for people to connect for you, Youtube is a great tool to use as well.
I have learned to do what I have my whole life, continue "in spite of" and have faith that there is a reason for it all. On my Podcast, I usually build my shows around my guest and my guest this time around didn't show up. It's an inconvenience when people do that, we all think our time is more important than the next man when in reality time is valuable no matter whose it is. I believe that time is our most valuable commodity of all. If you use your time wisely you can accomplish much but if you don't, you won't accomplish anything at all.
So the long and short of this one is, many things went wrong on my first episode as my own engineer and I usually send my recordings by email to my subscribers and friends I will not do that. It was flawed to say the least but all is not lost!!! I had a heck of a time in that studio, I realized that I will always have to turn my Mic on...lol and I am learning not to take things personally. There are many things that just aren't meant to be and others you have to be willing to take control, fall, fail, stop, start over, walk, fall, fail, stop, start over...repeat
Next weeks Podcast will be on "12 ways others image of you impose on your wellness", be sure to tune into that one.... I WON'T FORGET TO TURN MY MIC ON!!!
